Week 2.2009: Nodding Donkey

Unless there is snow on the ground or you are in love with brown, winter on the front range can be downright ugly. Because of that my inspiration to photograph sometimes wanes, as it is right now, but instead of giving up on this week's photo I sent out some tweets to build up my inspiration ( thanks to everyone who replied ) and eventually decided to embrace the dead and brown that is so abundant outside of my window. I headed east onto the plains that take up a full 3rd of Colorado's landscape and followed highway 7 until it ended. It was out there, in the middle of nowhere that I started seeing all sorts of things that interested me. Trains, empty fields plowed and waiting for spring, and, on my way home, this pump, also known as a Nodding Donkey.
