Week 50.2008: Merry Christmas

Christmas has historically been a huge failure for me on the photography front. There are some very cool shots to be made at Christmas time, unfortunately most of what makes them interesting falls well inside of my photography weaknesses. People, indoors, low ambient light with bright highlights are all things I struggle with in my photography. In addition to that I really want to experience the holiday with my two kids and when I am shooting photos I am on the outside looking in. So until I saw this macro of an ornament by Aimee over at greeblemonkey.com I had pretty much written off shooting at all this holiday season. Inspired and renewed I took some photos of the ornaments on my in-law's tree and while it is no where near as good as my inspiration I am pretty happy with it. Merry Christmas
